I always love capturing a wedding at The Farmette in Lyons. It is tucked away against the hills of Lyons and if you live around here I bet you have gone by the location so many times, but didn't even know it. It's quiet, personal, full of loving animals, and the home to a million growing, gorgeous flowers. Many of the flowers which you will see in this lovely wedding!
Laura and Dechen chose a gorgeous June day to get married at The Farmette. I often get asked what makes a wedding unique when I have been to so many. The truth is when couples put personal touches throughout their day, that's what makes it unique. It's about them as a couple and welcoming in this new chapter into their lives. With the passing of relatives, one of them being Laura's mother, there were many moments and details dedicated to those they loved but not present at the wedding. You will see during the wedding ceremony flowers being laid down at their feet by the wedding party. That was to remember their loved ones who had passed. I thought it was such a thoughtful moment.
Laura and Dechen are both artists and belong to a band together. Before sitting down for dinner they sang songs together with their band! How sweet is that?! We all loved hearing them play together and share their talents on their wedding day.
Much of the wedding day was full of very eco-friendly, sustainable, and environmentally aware choices. All the florals were by the amazing Plume and Furrow who picked and used the flowers from the garden at The Farmette. GB Culinary (one of my top caterer recommendations always) served food in the most sustainable and responsible manner. Grant, the owner, came out and even did an introduction to the food which had all been grown or raised within the Boulder County area.
The moment that stood out to me the most were the amazing rainbows that appeared! So many looked at Laura and said that it was her mother sharing in the day. I was so glad I could capture a moment with these two out in the field with the rainbow right above them!
