When I got the notice that Rocky Mountain Bride wanted me to collaborate with them on a modern boho wedding in Boulder, you would of thought I just won an Academy Award. I mean, it honestly felt that way (or what I would image it would feel like!) If you don't know Rocky Mountain Bride, let me introduce you to them! They are a print and online wedding inspiration company who share love stories from The Canadian Rockies all the way down to New Mexico. If a wedding falls along somewhere in the Rockies, then it has the possibility to be shared by this platform. So many of my couples look to Rocky Mountain Bride for how they want to style, and have their wedding look. They highlight some of the absolute best talent along this mountain range. So to say the least, it was such an honor to work with them!
The inspiration for this collaboration was to show off one of Boulder's top wedding venues, The Rembrandt Yard Art Gallery and Event Center. We wanted to create a style within the gallery that works around the art and space, while also showing off the awesome areas outside the gallery. I have found that Boulder has many nooks and crannies that so many people never notice. I loved being able to highlight the gallery, and all there is to offer in the area. With any bohemian wedding comes macrame...from the ceremony decor, to the cake, and even the dress...there were elements of macrame throughout! Check out the full feature on Rocky Mountain Bride!
I have to share one really sweet and full circle experience during the day. The table is from Harvest Table Company and is built of wood from a tree that fell during the floods in Lyons. I moved to Boulder right before the floods, and spent countless days serving those who lost everything. I remember digging out a wall 8 feet tall of sand and boulders blocking a home in Lyons. I took a break at one point and watched those trees float down the river next to this home. It was during this time that I snapped into thinking what would truly make me happy with my life, and here I am! Capturing moments and creating history behind a camera that I get to share with others brings me so much joy. It's been worth every moment to get to this point!
