Truth is, I do have some favorite venues in Colorado and one of my top five is River Bend in Lyons, Colorado. The St. Vrain river runs right through the venue creating a river bend! A huge lawn, fruit trees, calm, and quiet. It is a very special place to have a wedding, in my opinion!
Meghan, a native of Lyons, Colorado (that is a very rare thing!) came back to her home town with her soon-to-be-husband Tom, and friends from all over to celebrate together. I could not get over the bright, festive colors of flowers that adorned the River Bend throughout the wedding day. Lace and Lilies, the florists for this wedding, always amaze me with their creative skills! I shared numerous moments that really showed who these two are from their special day. From Tom's son joining him throughout the getting ready process, to cute glances and looks between Meghan and Tom, to their pup they flew out from their current home in DC, to a walk down the aisle by both parents, and guests playing by the river. Those are the moments that really tell this story.
One other part of the wedding day that really stood out to me was how much thought these two put into every detail. With the help of the fabulous Daliah Events, they brought together a day that was seriously the most fun! I haven't laughed and danced that much in a long time! I typically do not start dancing and join in, but Meghan and Tom invited us to have some fun! They had the Shutterbus photo booth drive into the venue and let guests be silly in their little bus studio. For music they had a silent disco party! There was dessert, on top of dessert, and the MORE dessert! A plush lounge that made anyone just want to sit, relax and enjoy the views. And it all ended with a glow stick exit! I am grateful for Meghan and Tom who made the middle of wedding season feel not so wildly exhausting, and invited myself and second photographer to feel like part of their friends!
