I met Emily and Zach last year way back here when I did their engagements in the Rocky Mountains. These two are so special! I love being able to do engagements and then the wedding day of couples. It allows me to get to know my couples so much better, and connect with them. Emily and Zach are originally from Maryland, so out I flew to their wedding day!
I pretty much felt like I was in some fairy tale wedding weekend as soon as I got to their venue site! I mean, just look at that old stone home among the green hills! I pulled in late at night as fireflies were floating around! You could hear the crickets down by the lake and the willow trees lightly blowing in the wind. It was a stunning backdrop for these two and their wedding!
I always say there is something that sticks out to me at each wedding. For Emily and Zach, I felt it was honoring their love and their parents. Emily and Zach wrote little notes to each other that definitely brought some tears.
Emily's father was diagnosed with cancer a few years back, so it was not certain if he could walk her down the aisle. Days before Emily let me know it probably wouldn't happen. I felt devastated for her and was hoping something may change last minute. The day before her wedding her father felt good enough to walk her down the aisle, and I just had this big lump in my throat holding back tears as I watched them walk along the lawn to Zach.
I hope you take a moment to scroll through their wedding day! It is full of gorgeous deep reds, some notebook vibes in a canoe at the lake, and first dances that stopped the whole room to watch all the love!
I have to add a big thank you to Emily and Zach for having me come out to Maryland and see their home state! I loved capturing their wedding, bus especially felt so welcomed and cared for by their family while I was 34 weeks pregnant!
