Colorado is known for it's crazy weather. There is a saying here, "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes!" It's true, Colorado is all over the place with its snow, hail, rain, bright sunny days, wind. Typically that saying is true, and the weather will change shortly. Unfortunately, for Zina and Frank that wasn't the case on their wedding day.
It started with a drizzle, and then led into a complete downpour all day long. I get asked often if I work in crazy weather, well here is your answer! I ran with it, and turned this crazy weather into our advantage with some awesome foggy backdrop portraits! It was the foggiest (at points we couldn't hardly see them at the front of Sunrise Amphitheater), rainiest day I have ever experienced in Boulder though. But the wedding went on, and we were out there capturing these two rain and all!
You might recognize a few familiar faces in these wedding images! Frank is actually the executive producer of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on the Food Network. His cast and crew came to his wedding, including his best friend Guy Fiere. Guy officiated his wedding, and announced these two as husband and wife. While his camera crew joined me for the day in the foothills of Boulder to video each event. The reception down the hill at Chautauqua Dining Hall was an ode to Zina's Hispanic heritage. After we all dried off, it was a fiesta!
