Renan, originally from Brazil, moved to Paris for work in May of 2015. Naomi, originally from Colorado Springs, came to Paris for a week in June of 2015. Naomi was off to an internship in Cameroon and wanted to stop and explore Paris before she would be busy with her internship.
That Sunday in June, she attended a church in Paris and was in hopes of meeting some friends there for her week visit to the area. The Pastor asked everyone to look to your left and to your right and introduce yourselves to whomever you are sitting next to. During this moment, Renan was sitting right in front of Naomi and they introduced themselves to each other. After church concluded, Renan invited Naomi to a church young adult lunch.
At the lunch everyone kept asking if Naomi and Renan knew each other since they seemed like best friends! As the night went on, these two ended up at the Jardins du Luxembourg and it was hard for them to deny their instant chemistry. The next few days were entwined with romantic walks along the Seine, exploring the Louvre, and then (as Naomi calls it) her "romantic peak" in life...her first kiss with Renan at the Eiffel Tower! I mean, does it get any better than this?!
Naomi had legitimate concerns that their relationship wouldn't work because she was only in town for a week, and would be busy with in internship, along with the fact that this kind of story never really works out. Well, Renan felt otherwise and disagreed. After a week together they started their long-distance relationship. From France to Cameroon, and then France to the USA. The best part, in my opinion, is that they have supported each other throughout their long distance relationship with hard challenges and family struggles. Yet, through it all they are just a wonderful, lovely, upbeat couple who have grown together through it all.
They both feel that God brought them together for a purpose and they are so happy to finally be living in the same place now, which is Paris!
During our session, Naomi shared that they are off to Brazil to meet Renan's extended family soon and the excitement they both shared is contagious! I am so glad these two found each other, and I am grateful I could capture their love.
