Kate grew up in Colorado, but moved away after high school to Texas, where she met Todd. So these two Texans came back to Colorado to say their vows in the Rocky Mountains! Beaver Creek always is an amazing setting for a wedding day! The lupines were in bloom, the mountainside so green, fresh air with sunshine!
Kate and Todd's day was full of so many details. They truly wanted to include those who have passed away, especially Kate's father, and those who traveled so far to be with them. Vintage jewelry from family members, handkerchiefs with sweet sayings, Smores packages to enjoy in the evening by the fire, donut bar because who doesn't want that, vows said in a circle so everyone felt included, and of course their sweet pup by their side along with Todd's boys.
I always find there is a moment or two that really pulls at my heart on a wedding day. Each wedding is different, so it's never usually the same moment. But this time it was the father/daughter dance. Since Kate's father had passed away a few years ago, they had asked four of his closest friends to step in and take turns during the dance. It was one of those hard but good moments. Grateful to see good people stand in place of her father, but just hard to not have her father there. Cheers to Kate and Todd for all their big Texas love in Colorado!
